The Child Health & Development Centre is a private paediatric allied health centre providing:

Speech Pathology
Physiotherapy
Occupational Therapy
Special Education
Exercise Physiology
*Outreach available to Ayr and Ingham for Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology

We pride ourselves in providing child and family focused services – improving the day-to-day lives of our clients.
Our clinical team are all university qualified professionals who are passionate about working with families to realise the potential of each child.

Our therapy and assessments are flexible to the needs of each child – as is the venue. 

As well as providing services in our centre, we also work in schools, day care centres, homes and provide outreach services south to Ayr and north to Ingham. We are presently taking names for people interestd in Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology services in Charters Towers.  Please contact us on 07 4723 0777 in regards to this service – obviously minimum numbers are required to provide outreach.

While we are registered providers under the Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with a Disability programs, our services are not limited to children who are eligible for these. 

While we receive many referrals from paediatricians, GPs, teachers and other health and education professionals, families do not need a formal referral to access our services. 


We make a concerted effort to involve families in their child’s therapy.  We recognise that most caregivers are the child’s best advocate and have the potential to have the biggest impact in their child’s progress. 

 

We also work with educators and health professionals to ensure that strategies recommended by our clinicians are communicated to others who have contact with the child.  On the other hand, we also work with these professionals in order to ensure any successful strategies that are currently in place are supported in our therapy sessions. If your child is transferring from another therapy team, we will work closely with the previous team to ensure a seamless transition.
